Jay Drew graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in 1985 from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1988 from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. After practicing as a trial attorney with both private firms and State Farm staff counsel for 10 years in Atlanta, he moved to Bloomington, Illinois with State Farm where he was selected to be one of six Regional Managers of their Staff Counsel Program. He returned to Atlanta in 2003 to apply his skills and experience as an insurance defense attorney handling personal injury cases for Robert Lipman and Associates. He joined CNA Insurance in 2004 as the Managing Trial Attorney for the Company’s Atlanta staff counsel office. Jay rejoined Robert Lipman in 2006 to form Lipman & Drew, a law firm specializing in obtaining maximum recoveries for victims of personal injuries or wrongful death.

Lipman & Drew focuses exclusively on representing and protecting the rights of numerous Georgia families who have experienced personal injuries or death arising from a negligent act. Jay has over 18 years of legal and trial experience as a former insurance defense attorney, and is keenly aware of litigation tactics employed by insurance companies and their counsel to pressure the injured person to accept a smaller settlement or simply walk away from their case.

He is currently a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice before all Georgia State, Superior, and appellate courts, including the Georgia Supreme Court as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th District.

Jay is a member of the American Bar Association and State Bar of Georgia and works as a coach/judge with the Georgia Mock Trial Program.
